Preparing for 3rd Chemo Treatment

Reaction to the second chemo treatment went much better. I think it went better because more time had elapsed from surgery. She still had an allergic reaction, but a couple of Benadryl for a couple of nights kept the hives in check. There were many doctor visits this week. The main one was with Dr. Lee, the oncologist. She reported that the CA 125 level is down to 13 and added that studies have shown that early control of the protein levels leads to the cancer staying in remission. Praise God for the good news. We are headed to our third treatment next week being very encouraged.

Although I'm forbidden by Carla to tell you because it is a minor thing, I feel you would want to know. Putting away Christmas decorations, Carla broke the fifth metacarpal, the palm bone of her little finger, when she stopped a large wooden Santa from crashing to the ground from a tall shelf. So in addition to having chemo next week, Carla will have surgery on Monday to install a plate to repair the damage. Definitely minor surgery, but she will still go under general anesthesia.

Have a great weekend. We will.
