The nurse just came in and repositioned Mom. That woke Mom up a bit and it was good to see her responsive for the first time since I've arrived today. The nurse also took the oxygen mask off for a minute so that Mom could have some ice chips. It only lasted a minute because her oxygen level dropped pretty rapidly without the mask on. However, for that one minute, Mom was alert and although she couldn't really talk, she had her normal sassy personality, even rolling her eyes twice at things we said. I can't tell you how much those eye rolls comforted me.
Because Mom was finally alert, the nurse gave her some more pain medication that will also make her sleepy. So, she's back to sleep, but I feel much better having seen her alert for a moment in between.

Thanks for the updates. You all must be exhausted, physically and emotionally. Wish we could help out. If there is anything we can do, let us know.
