Night Update

The night shift is drawing to a close. Mom had a pretty good night. For the first half she would wake up and chat for a few minutes before drifting back to sleep. She slept more soundly the rest of the night and only woke up once to change positions (which is a bit more involved than just rolling over, as you can imagine!).

Twice during the night an alarm on the machine went off indicating that her heart rate was too high. She seemed to feel fine each time, and it lowered again on its own after a few minutes. The second time, she said she was dreaming about stocks, so I encouraged her to dream less stimulating dreams.

She seems to be feeling good, and she is chipper when she's awake. She's had some difficulty coughing deeply enough to clear her throat. They just came to take an x-ray of her lungs, so hopefully we'll get the results from that soon.

She felt bad that I had the night shift, "This is going to be so hard for you." I told her it wouldn't be any worse than having a newborn, and at least she didn't cry when she needed something. And I wasn't the one who was sore. So she agreed and piped in, "And you don't have to change my diapers!" ;-)

Lindsay and Megan,
What a blessing to have two daughters who are so loving and caring! We are praying moment by moment for all of you and we know God is faithful. I love Psalm 143:8 Let the morning bring word or your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go for to you I lift up my soul.
Sending love and prayers for all of you today!
