Mom had an okay night. She had some difficulty getting comfortable with usual gas pains, breathing/shortness of breath, and dry mouth. The nurse gave her something for pain, which helped, but she still wasn't able to sleep. At 2:15 the nurse gave her something to help her sleep...amazing how fast it took affect! She slept fairly soundly for nearly 3 hours and I think the only reason she woke up was b/c she accidentally pulled out her oxygen tube, which caused her level to drop. But her oxygen alarm sounded and I was able to put it back on for her. So our little "experiment" showed us she still needs her oxygen.
She wasn't able to fall back to sleep, and she is very confused and disoriented (I'm sure due to the sleeping meds still in her system). She keeps trying to get out of bed. She even told me, "it's not like I had surgery." Would have been funny if she weren't quite serious.
She's getting a cat bath this morning before I leave. So she'll be clean. Hopefully she'll be more lucid when Aunt Teri gets here for the morning shift!
