When I arrived, Carla was sitting in the big cushioned recliner by the bed, sleeping. We did her breathing treatment and now she is sleeping again, but in and out of wakefulness, with gas pains.
Dr. Lee came by briefly. She is so compassionate. First, she gave Carla a hug, then asked Carla if she could look at her tummy. All looked well. I asked Dr. Lee, privately if there was anything extra to tell the family, any further info, but she said "not right now....this whole family is amazing.....tell everyone to hang in there, because a time is coming in the future when you will all have a chuckle, saying 'remember how hard those days were' "..... although I can't imagine having a chuckle over any of this, I knew what she meant, and it was comforting to hear her doctor saying there's going to be improvement around the corner.....well, and knowing Carla, there WILL be laughter over all this in the future......but right now, it just plain hurts our hearts to see her going through this...
"My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is in Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold,
I shall not be shaken........Trust in Him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us
Psalm 62:5-8
