ICU update

Mom is currently resting in the ICU. They have her on a BiPAP which is helping her maintain her oxygen and breathe more easily. So far it seems to be doing the job, so they hopefully won't have to use a ventilator (that would be more invasive and would be the next step if things don't improve). Her blood pressure is back to the slightly elevated levels its been (verses the +200 levels before transferring to ICU). She is more relaxed, but still is showing signs of restlessness/anxiousness. She is not alert right now and has not been able to answer name/place/time questions.

Dr. Sidiqi (I'm sure I misspelled his name...he's the lung specialist and one of the ICU doctors) said the main concern is her lungs. They are not working as they should (due to surgery, the cancer, or the fluid...the cause is unclear). They are also concerned about a potential blood clot. They will treat her for a clot b/c she is too unstable to be moved to the room where they would scan her looking for a clot.

"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." James 5:16 We treasure your prayers!

Brad, Lindsay and Megan, Please know that you are ALL in my constant thoughts and prayers. The sweetest, kindest, most generous person I probably have ever known needs to get better so we can all tell her how much she means to all of us. I pray you have the strength you will need to get through the next hours and days. Thanks for the blog - it helps us so much.

I have tried to leave a comment about 6 times now and I continue to delete. Just don't know what to say except we love Carla and all the Govreau's. Fight Carla, fight. God give the doctors and advocates the knowledge to heal with HIS power!
